Nature has its own way of showing its dominance. In recent times, there has been an increase in the occurrence of natural calamities, especially earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

One such volcanic eruption recently took place in Indonesia and has confirmed the power of nature. Mount Sinabung, located on Indonesia’s Sumatra island, erupted on Monday.

The eruption was so powerful that it spewed out ash and other volcanic materials as high as 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) into the sky.

Reportedly, this was the second eruption from the same mountain since Saturday and has been quite in the eye of the officials. No casualties have been reported yet but as a consequence of the eruption, the ash and smoke have destroyed the plantation in the region.

The crater’s mouth is emitting thick smoke continuously and the villagers are thus advised to stay at a distance of at least 5kms from the mountains. Although the local authorities have assigned five trucks to clean the areas with such heavy emissions, it is still a lot of work.

Here are some photos of the view.

Mount Sinabung on Indonesia’s Sumatra island spewed thick ash and smoke miles into the sky on August 10.

The thick smoke rose as high as 5,000 meters touching the sky.

The satellite image from space shows how massive the eruption was and the gigantic fumes released from its mouth are even visible from space.

The dust plume and the smoke from the eruption have formed a cloud cover in the sky and might cause disturbances in aviation.

Indonesia is known as the Ring of Fire for it is home to more than 100 active volcanoes. It shows consistent seismic activities and has always bowed down in front of nature due to the unprecedented character of such calamities.
