On early Tuesday the shocking news came out of former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan, having been arrested by the paramilitary forces and taken into custody over a corruption case.
The Islamabad police official Twitter account wrote explaining what happened as “Imran Khan has been arrested in the Qadir Trust case.”
The PTI official Twitter account also posted a video of the arrest claiming that “Rangers abducted PTI Chairman Imran Khan, these are the visuals. Pakistan’s brave people must come out and defend their country.”

Why Was He Arrested?
Imran Khan is currently involved in over 140 cases ranging from terrorism to murder, blasphemy, violence and inciting violence and corruption charges ever since he was ousted from power last year in April.
According to the Islamabad police, he was making an appearance at the court for anti-graft charges when he was arrested based on a warrant by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) by the Rangers.
The reason for doing so according to reports is said to be on allegations that the former PM and his wife acquired “obtained billions of rupees from a real estate firm for legalising Rs50 billion” as per a report by Dawn.
Imran Khan’s Video Released
Soon after Khan’s arrest, his party the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and his own official channels released a pre-recorded video where it seems that Khan already knew he would be arrested and predicted it then only.
In the video said to be from 2022, the PTI chief can be heard saying “My fellow Pakistanis, when these words of mine reach you I will already be closed inside in an unlawful case. After this, you all should realise that fundamental rights, law and democracy have been buried. Maybe it is possible that I won’t get a chance to talk to you again.”

He further added that “Pakistan’s public has known me for 50 years; I’ve been in the eyes of the public for 50 years, I have never gone against Pakistan’s Constitution and I’ve never broken the law.
Since I’ve been in politics, I have always tried that [all] my struggle would be peaceful and within the ambits of the Constitution. What is being done today is not because I have broken any law but only for me to step back from the haqeeqi azaadi tehreek.”
Khan also said that “It is being done so that I accept this corrupt cabal of crooks that have been imposed on us. They want me to accept them,” and finished with “I appeal today to everyone that you all have to come out. Freedom is not given on a plate — you have to work hard and struggle for it.”
PTI aids and supporters though believe things are not being done lawfully. PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry wrote in a tweet that “Islamabad High Court has been occupied by Rangers, lawyers are being subjected to torture, Imran Khan’s car has been surrounded.”
Another PTI leader Azhar Mashwani wrote that “Imran Khan has been abducted by Rangers from inside the Islamabad High Court The party has given a call to immediately start protests across Pakistan.”
Musarrat Cheema, also a PTI leader posted a video message on Twitter saying “They are torturing Imran Khan right now…they are beating Khan sahib. They have done something with Khan sahib.”
