Breakfast Babble: ED’s own little space on the interwebs where we gather to discuss ideas and get pumped up for the day. We judge things too. Sometimes. Always. Whatever, call it catharsis and join in people.

I know that many of you, or  may I say all of you, have probably been bored sitting at home for the past year due to the ongoing pandemic. Visiting cafes, meeting friends, casual get-togethers and going for a walk, everything has come to a standstill. And to top it all, here I am, who wants another lockdown. By now, you must have considered me crazy. Isn’t it?

Well, let me tell you that I ain’t crazy. It’s not that I don’t love spending time with my friends or exploring new things, I just enjoy my “me- time” more than anything, which I got in abundance. Thanks to the lockdown.

Why Another Lockdown?

It is because of the lockdown that I have been able to execute things that I had in mind for a really long time. Not that I couldn’t execute them when the time was different.

But, I had a deeply ingrained mindset of “what will people say” and hence, my thoughts never came to reality. However, during the lockdown, I could make that happen as no one could see it and judge it, except for my family, ofc.

I got a new haircut which I have wanted to do for a very long time. And I am glad that I did it because it made me look good and more importantly made me happy.

Other than that, I did a little room makeover where I decorated one entire wall of my room with my paintings. I couldn’t do it earlier as I thought that people won’t like my paintings and they’ll judge me. However, owing to the lockdown, I could do that too!

Lockdown Helped My Productivity

As I had a lot of free time during the lockdown, I used it to the maximum to enhance my productivity. As a student of Journalism, doing internships and honing our writing and reading skills is a must. But, I hardly got time to do one or two internships when things were normal, because there was so much workload.

So, during the lockdown, I built my resume and went on Internshala and LinkedIn to look for internships and since the beginning of lockdown, I have been continuously doing internships, one after the other. Also, I started blogging and shared my ideas with people. Doing these two activities enhanced my writing skills.

At night, before going to bed, I would spend time reading for 2 to 3 hours and, during the entire lockdown, I was able to read five to six books, which I am really proud of, to be honest.

At last, I just want to say that lockdown has added feathers to my personality. From not being able to do much to executing everything I had in mind, I have developed a lot and that’s why I feel like having another lockdown wouldn’t be the worst of things.
