Organized annually by the Economics Association of Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University, Blisspoint is one of the most well-known and highly regarded fests in North India and has seen active participation from colleges across the city, and across the country, in the last few years.
Spread over two days, the fest unfolds like a kaleidoscope of events, including but not limited to academic seminars, alumni sessions, paper presentation competitions, quizzes, MUNs, etc.
Due to restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the 2021 edition of Blisspoint is set to be conducted virtually. The official theme for Blisspoint 2021 is – “Behavioural Economics and Public Policy in India”, and the fest shall be conducted over a span of two days – 26th and 27th February.
Here are all the events that will be held under Blisspoint 2021:
BlissMUN –
The flagship event of Blisspoint, it is considered to be among the most prestigious MUNs in the Delhi University circuit and sees robust participation from eminent institutions across the world.
Mockstock –
A simulation of the stock market, this event has been a regular feature in the previous editions of Blisspoint and attracts finance and investment enthusiasts from across the country.
Paper Presentation –
Having been conducted as a part of Blisspoint for several years, the paper presentation competition is an eagerly awaited event in the calendar of research aspirants and sees a rigorous amount of brainstorming every year.
Economics Quiz –
Witnessing a comeback after being absent last year, the Economics Quiz facilitates an interesting swordplay between inquisitive brains, spread over a preliminary round and a finale.
Football Auction –
Meticulously crafted by the organizing team, this event aims to simulate the dazzling world of million-dollar football transfers and the thrilling atmosphere of watching your own team play. After a preliminary round consisting of a football quiz, the qualifying teams shall move on to the auction round.
Business Plan –
This event provides students with an opportunity to present their business models and strategies via a detailed framework as if they were sitting right in front of actual investors.
B Plan is spread across two rounds, with the first round requiring revenue models, and the final round requiring a presentation of the entire plan.
Apart from competitive events, Blisspoint 2021 shall commence with a speaker session with eminent academicians on Day 1, and an alumni session with distinguished graduates of the economics department on Day 2.
