The 21st century is incomplete without social media. With virtual friendship, group video calling, saree to ice bucket challenges – social media is always filled with exciting trends and activities.
Therefore, starting from celebs to 14-year-old minors (unfortunately) – all are there to be part of virtual communities. Everyone loves to be on social media and stay updated.
While some share their regular routine with their virtual friends, some use their social media handles just to check others’ posts and statuses.
While some prefer writing political posts, others share memes throughout the day. This is not all, there are people who prefer to be silent and act as surveillance cameras on social media too.
Here, we will talk about the five types of friends we all have as our social media connections.
The Aunties/Surveillance Cameras
These aunties can be females or males. Elderly people or young stalkers. They stay on your social media as surveillance cameras.
Starting from checking your stories to reading your posts – they will do it all without reacting to any of your posts. But don’t be sad because they will definitely gossip about them elsewhere.
The Marketers
The handsome boy or the cute girl in your friend list who will never reply to your text but they will promote their beauty pages and workout pages every alternate day. They will insist you like their pages and content and will treat you more like a fan!

The Copycats
They are on social media to follow celebs and feel inspired by them. They recreate Deepika and Sonam’s looks at home and flaunt books and recipes like their other friends. Missing out on trends is just not their thing!
The Players
Well! These fellas treat every social media handle as Tinder and treat every person as an eligible prospect. So if you want to consider them as friends, you better tread carefully.
The Friends
They are the people who have actually mastered the art of social media and use it for its intended purpose. They use virtual networks to connect properly and make friends. They share stories, talk to people and just be themselves. Pretty cool, isn’t it?
