As Covid has paralysed the conventional working of human beings, it is becoming increasingly tough day by day to manage to the new normal. Sitting at home and doing all the activities from home has been a major setback for the body. Health experts and several other non-state actors have repeatedly addressed this issue since the beginning of the lockdown. One such man who has upheld the principles of fitness since day one is Sahil Seth, I.R.S,  Joint Commissioner GST Mumbai.

Sahil Seth has been a pious practitioner when it comes to health and fitness. He firmly believes that prevention is better than cure. So, he has been continuously urging everyone to stay fit and healthy. He has been propagating the fact that maintaining good physical and mental health should be of utmost experience. Thus, the primary step to stay healthy is a proper diet. He feels that a balanced diet which judiciously contains all nutrients helps in the holistic growth and maintenance of the body.  He believes the traditional Indian phrase “The more colorful the food, the better is it for the body”. It means that the body is intaking more vitamins and minerals which are extremely beneficial. It provides strength to the immunity system and helps to fight the virus in the most natural way. When speaking about fighting the virus, he exclusively addressed the effectiveness of vaccines. He urged everyone to get vaccinated but reminded them that vaccines are designed to help in getting cured but not for preventing the virus. So, one should not depend solely on vaccines. Other than diet, it is also important to have a daily intake of water measuring at least 2-3 liters. Water keeps the body hydrated, regulates the body temperature, and helps in all other bodily functions. With proper consumption of these solids and liquid, the body can be a lot fit and build a strong immune system that can pose a strong fight against the virus.

Daily exercise is also a factor that Sahil Seth strongly recommends. Sitting at home, most of the physical activities have got restricted.  This has hindered the normal functioning of the body parts and thus one should ensure regular movements. Home workouts, yoga practice, or more such should be a part of the daily routine. Physical activities also help in the release of happy hormones in the body which also results in a good mental state. To maintain sanity in these tough times is extremely essential.

He has not only advocated for these principles but has immensely contributed and still continues to work hard during this Covid period. He has been also acknowledged for the same by the World Book of Records, London. A memoir of that has even surfaced on the internet stirring in a lot of appreciation for Sahil Seth. He believes that charity begins at home and just as he started , he wants people to do the same. He wants people to maintain the protocols, stay fit and healthy and be safe. This little measure by every individual can create a greater impact when measured. Like others, he is also a staunch believer of “We are in this together and We will fight this together!”
