For a game which hasn’t even been properly launched in India and many other countries around the world, Pokemon GO has surely gone viral in terms of downloads to an extent that there are talks of a similar Game Of Thrones version to be put out and we discuss how it would appear.
One of the game’s global product marketers, Archit Bhargava hinted at a Game of Thrones version of Pokemon GO and it was enough to get the fans (including me) excited. But how will the game look? How do we play it? Here’s our take on all the probabilities. Enjoy :
First things first, Pokemon are the creatures to be caught in the mentioned game but in the Game Of Thrones version, we can pretty much expect everything to revolve around dragons of different kinds.
Ever since Viserys mentioned the names of different dragons and Daenerys being a badass with 3 dragons of her own, we can surely expect plenty of “fiery” action from these creatures who may just be found in our living rooms!
Now, with the different houses in the lands of Westeros and Essos, these houses would surely make a good addition to the game and give the players a chance to compete as their favorite characters, be it Arya Stark with her rebel attitude, Jon Snow with his bravery or Tyrion Lannister with his extraordinary wit and strategical skills.
Players could also join different houses based on their preference and follow their quest in the game world.
The game would start with different stories for different characters yet culminate into one massive plot (much like GTA V) and the ultimate Pokemon master may just get to sit on the Iron Throne, after all! *Fanboy moment level 9000*
The game could also use the inbuilt story lines between the rival houses and allow alliances to be created, only to have dragon matches (Haha. Yup. Best I could come up with.) between rival houses or to unite and stand against the one common enemy of the series, the evil White Walkers.
With rare creatures in Pokemon GO like Zapdos, Mewtwo, Articuno, Moltres, etc., the Game of Thrones version could feature The Children Of The Forest, The Three Eyed Raven or even the northern giants such as Wun Wun as the rare creatures to strengthen the arsenal of the players for the epic battles.
And lastly, the players will use dragon eggs instead of Pokeballs to catch the dragons and train them throughout the game and see their dragons evolve into gigantic beasts.
Well, this may be a bit far-fetched, but what’s life without a little vivid imagination, eh? After the amazing success of the TV show and the books by George R.R. Martin, this game would surely liven things up for the franchise and HBO.
BUT ONLY IF GEORGE MARTIN DOESN’T WALK INTO THE GAME AND KILLS OFF EVERYBODY.
