Elie Saba is the man behind the transformation of Dubai’s hip nightclub ‘White’ into a fine dining space

UAE’s most preferred hangout destination has undertaken a massive makeover during the pandemic.

People who visited the venue where once Dubai’s swish club existed were taken aghast, for now stood there a lavish sit-down restaurant and lounge in place of the buzzing nightclub. Many had serious doubts whether the club would survive the lethal pandemic wave as social distancing had become a norm and packed crowded places were never going to survive owing to safety measures. Closing the favourite destination of Dubai was never an option for Elie Saba, managing partner of Addmind group, which runs the elite club ‘White’. “Somewhere at the back of my mind, I was sceptical about the club culture surviving the current situation, but at the same time we didn’t want to let down our regular clientele who are more like family to us and who look up to our venue for a good time, so after a lot of brainstorming sessions, we decided to continue with a new format, albeit with a much safer environment.” says Saba.

The club which was once bustling with party goers is now a princely dinner space which can accommodate 550 guests at a time, who can enjoy the scenic panoramic view of Dubai’s skyline. The space which was occupied by huge LED screens and bar stools are replaced by chic interiors which are pleasing to the eye. The music that’s played has also changed from the usual loud to a much soothing one which compliments the setup.

The club has gone back to its roots according to Saba. “When we started off initially in 2006 in Beirut, it was similar to what it is now, which later went on to become an international club, the way it looks today brings back the old memories for me and some of my team members who have been loyally serving ‘White’ since years.”

The club which once hosted world’s biggest hip-hop and RnB stars now hosts cabaret and acrobatics performances by talented in-house artists. Saba is determined to take the brand which is on number fifteen on the world’s best clubs to number one in coming times. The way in which Saba had shaped up the new ‘White’, it will definitely surpass the numbers and reach the top position, for sure!
