On April 17, 2023, Aarti Mittal, actor-cum-casting director in the Indian film industry was caught red-handed by Unit 11 of Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch at a Goregaon hotel. Aarti was accused of luring models with money and then supplying them to customers for prostitution reasons.
The police got to know of this according to reports after two models were tricked into this with Aarti promising Rs. 15,000 to each for doing this.
According to ANI, the Mumbai Crime Branch stated that “Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 11, Dindoshi police busted a sex racket running in Goregaon area.”
What Happened?
Aarti, a resident of Oshiwara apparently scouted for girls during shoots of her own projects and would start to interact with them, then after some time would put this opportunity in front of them with promises of large amounts of money and the models would thus get tricked into prostitution.
Police Inspector Manoj Sutar first got to know of this racket being operated and Mittal being behind it, as per reports, and so he along with another member of the crime branch unit when undercover to see what was going on.
According to a Mid-day report, Manoj undercover a potential customer contacted Aarti and asked for two girls to be sent for two friends to which the 27-year-old casting director readily agreed and asked Rs. 60,000 for this.
Once it was decided she sent over pictures of the girls to Manoj on his cellphone and gave the option of a Juhu hotel or a Goregaon one for the meeting place. Manoj selected Goregaon as the place and then once reaching the premises Aarti provided the undercover inspectors with contraceptives along with the two women.

A Dinoshi police station officer explained that “We have arrested the alleged accused for running a prostitution racket in the film industry and supplying models to customers to earn money.
We have registered a case against Mittal under Section 370 of the IPC and other relevant sections for girls trafficking. The case has been transferred to the Unit 11 crime branch for further investigation.”
Further, the report stated that “Mittal sent pictures of two women on PI Sutar*s phone and told him that these models will come either to Juhu or Goregaon-based hotels.
Sutar booked two rooms in Goregaon and sent two dummy customers. Mittal arrived with two young women and also gave them condoms. All of this has been recorded on spy cameras.”
Aarti Mittal is a small-time actress along with also being a casting director who has mostly appeared in television and web shows, her latest one being ‘Appnapan – Badalate Rishton Ka Bandhan’, featuring Rajshree Thakur and Cezanne Khan.
Along with that she was also in the show ‘Na Umra Ki Seema Ho’, Satish Kaushik’s ‘Karm Yuddh’, ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’, ‘Dharampatni’, ‘Sanak: Ek Junoon’, and others.
A social media post by her also claimed that she was shooting for a movie starring Bollywood actor R Madhavan.
Currently the police after investigating into the matter to get further information into what is going on.
