National security of India cannot be compromised at any cost; this idea fits in the motto of our government. But India, whose territory is always victim of cross border sponsored Jihadi terrorism; the recent happenings create new tensions.
The recent Ujjain rail blast in MP and its links to Lucknow encounter has surfaced rumors of ISIS’s khorasan franchise presence in India.
Though UP ADG has negated any such links and has proclaimed that all boys who were arrested are self radicalized.
The question which stands still here is “With recent attacks, has ISIS forayed officially in India’s territory?”
Background
ISIS in its 2015’s Manifesto dreamt to include India into its imaginary Islamic caliphate which would take entire India under its garb. It proclaimed PM Narendra Modi as a danger to the minorities in India. Henceforth, proclaimed that only ISIS could give real strength to minorities.
It presumed that it would try to enter officially in India through its Khorasan province. The khorasan province is the franchise of ISIS in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
But with its repeated efforts, it has been failed to make any impact in India. However, I do feel that with the Lone wolf concept, where sensitive people are radicalized online and asked to attack people in their country on their own; they have become a danger.
Current Happening
Saifullah could be understood as a Lone wolf. Whether he was instigated or took any sort of formal training from anyone is still ambiguous.
In connection to this case, around dozen of people are arrested from different areas of UP and MP.
NIA has been looking in this case for now.
The recent attacks have been a matter of concern for India’s security. Concrete intelligence efforts among pan India agencies and state agencies with due community awareness is a key to stop ISIS’s spurge in India.
