Breakfast Babble is ED’s own little space on the interwebs where we gather to discuss ideas and get pumped up (or not) for the day. We judge things, too. Sometimes. Always. Whatever, call it catharsis and join in, people.
Life becomes a lot more fun when you have a friend group.
I mean, not just friends, but a whole group where every person is a completely different character.
You know, there’s the funny friend who can turn any situation into a joke.
The fashion icon whose outfits are always perfect. The yapper who somehow has a story for every topic. The weird friend who says the most random things at the most perfect times. And then there’s that one friend who’s permanently confused about what’s going on.
The funny thing is, it doesn’t even make sense for these people to be friends.
They have different personalities, different interests, and completely different ways of looking at the world. Yet when they come together, they create chaos.
And that’s exactly what I’m talking about.

There are days when I question everything in my life. Am I doing enough? Am I falling behind on assignments? Am I doing well at work? Do I have a social life at all?
Then I met these people. These absolutely perfect idiots.
And suddenly, none of those thoughts seems as heavy.
They remind me that maybe being part of a friend group is one of the best things that could have happened to me.
Sure, we all have different interests. We don’t meet every day. Life gets busy.
But whenever we do get together, we have an absolute blast.
The best part is that you don’t have to pretend around these people. They’ve seen you at your best and at your worst. They’ve seen you stressed, crying over problems, making questionable life choices, and sometimes even convincing you to make even dumber ones.
And yet, they still choose to be around you.
As we grow older, life becomes busy, and meeting often isn’t possible. But somehow, whenever we meet again, it feels like no time has passed at all.
It’s like all the randomness in the world has somehow gathered in one room. And for some reason, it makes perfect sense.
And honestly, maybe we’re all a little weird. But together, we’re the kind of weird that makes life worth showing up for.
