Jesse McInnes and Walter Zanett know what it’s like to face these same obstacles in business, but they constantly chose to adapt and persevere which has led them to now be running a multi-million dollar business at 21 years of age.
Creating a brand
They started their social media journey in 2017. They were offering Instagram Growth automation services called IG Flourish. By 2019, they were scaling up and needed to change their strategy to start building partnerships with other growth agencies instead of only being a front-end business. After they secured partnerships with some of the biggest agencies in the world, their company skyrocketed.
Major challenges
All businesses are prone to challenges. Jesse and Walter know this better than everyone. The biggest challenge that they faced was the ever-changing Instagram algorithms. They were always forced to constantly update their strategies and stay on their toes in case the algorithms changed. “We have rebuilt our entire company’s infrastructure 3 times since starting,” they said.
Sailing above the storm
In the beginning of the interview they started by quoting Charles Darwin, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent; it is the one most adaptable to change.” They had to adapt if they wanted to stay in business. “We were faced with the clear fact that if we don’t constantly educate ourselves on what we can be doing better and where the trends are going, then we are not going to be able to survive and remain in front.”
Being unique
If you lack something that makes your business stand out, then others can easily replace you. Their company is built on relationships and partnerships. Secondly, they have a unique strategy that makes them the only company of a kind. That uniqueness helps them get referrals from the thousands of happy clients that they serve.

How did you make a name for yourself in your industry?

What obstacles did you face to get to where you are now?
We faced so many obstacles that it was tempting to stop and try something else. Since we ran Instagram automation, the frequent algorithm changes forced us to constantly adapt our strategies and kept us on our toes. We have literally rebuilt our entire company’s infrastructure 4 times since starting.
How did you overcome these obstacles?
We had to adapt if we wanted to keep our business running. Like Charles Darwin said “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent; it is the one most adaptable to change”.
