3 Positive Things that have happened in 2020

  1. Stronger relationships

Everyone has definitely been out and about much less, due to the direct impact of shelter-at-home notices and countries unilaterally closing borders. The indirect impact is that everyone spends more time with those immediately around them, and do so with a much deeper connection. While the impact may not always be positive, seeing that increased interaction may lead to more friction in some cases, it can be said to be a test of true relationships. Many feel that relationships that outlast 2020 could last forever.

  1. Cooking

Over the last 50 years, the trend of dining out and takeaways have become more commonplace as the world globalizes and society becomes more urbanized. With employment and financial commitments requiring becoming more demanding, the expectation that a family cooks has rapidly declined. One family activity on the rise is cooking together, where they re-visit grandma’s favorite recipes.

  1. Writing

Writing has always been a great outlet to express one’s thoughts with clarity and conviction. This was exactly what Donte Pitchford did. Not only did he complete his first book, titled ‘Cain and Abel: Woman thou art Eve’, but he already has concrete plans to turn this into a trilogy. “I honestly was trapped in my house with this internal conflict of good and bad inside of myself that I couldn’t run from”, said Pitchford.

Pitchford started with a genuine desire to reflect and improve, wanting to know how the good and bad parts in him work. Fundamentally, most people start off the same. At birth, a baby is innocent and knows nothing. Yet as two people move through life, their paths can be completely different.

Instead of looking at what differentiates us, Pitchford writes with the hopes of bringing all of us together and uniting our hearts and minds, learning how to master all your relationships in your life by first mastering the relationship with yourself.

By the end of this book, the author hopes that it will set the reader on a path of learning and giving. “A brand new perspective and re-discovering your own personal belief system will help you discover the factors pulling you down as well as the factors propelling you ahead”, added Pitchford. Everyone has different questions about life itself and Pitchford hopes to answer every question.

Cain and Abel is a book based on a never-before-told origin story of Adam and Eve and the Serpent Enchanter, and the origin of every human on the planet. This book entails over 15 years of research, looking into history, religion and also personal development. From the oldest canon Ancient writings about Cain and Abel and how they were twins but also half-brothers. Pitchford challenges his readers: “We all have the same moving parts of good and bad so where do they come from? How do I open up communication between my good and bad side, give yourself an open dialogue and what is our true history as humans and how does it make every human one with each other?”

Readers looking to understand both the good and bad sides of themselves will definitely want to consider picking up this book. The author has tirelessly surrendered his life to serve and help others as a humanitarian and now wants to spread that message in this book.
