The Interim Budget for the financial year 2019-20 was laid down in front of the Parliament by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal today in the absence of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Since the budget was not exhaustive and was interim in nature due to 2019 being the election year, not many announcements were expected.
But at the same time, significant announcements that could benefit the ruling party in upcoming elections were expected and so happened.
