While the significance of art is beginning to be perceived in our present atmosphere, having the option to look into the craftsmen’s psyche and encounters might be the best delight one could envision to gain proficiency with art specialists’ strength and vision of our reality. Not to mention especially in times of uncertainty.

Meet Takuma Tanaka. A growing Artist whose compositions are presently housed in the Ulster Museum at the National Museum of the United Kingdom. Takuma’s paintings are known to be bought exceptionally by art enthusiasts all across the globe.

Takuma was first asked about his journey. Born in 1977, A good, intelligent student since adolescence, he contemplated law at Waseda University meanwhile, also aimed to beat his bar assessments. Takuma developed a habit of studying for almost 16 hours, and as a result of such constant propensity, he became intellectually and physically sick.

Amidst that, he was prescribed by his primary care physician to explore painting as a therapy. With that plea, he started painting and eventually became a career choice. The paintings he started selling on the street in pieces are now on sale for over ten thousand US dollars. Home auction sites have been trading for more than a hundred times over the price in the last eight years. Besides, his artwork is also accessible at exhibition barters in Paris, London, and the United States.

On inquiring Takuma about his perspective, he mentioned that he observes society from a bird’s-eye view. Moreover, during the interview, Takuma shared his experiences with the painting industry and, his journey to becoming what he is today.

Paintings are magnificent, window-like art that allows us to take a quick look. Many individuals who can bear my paintings’ cost are generally the ones with a high monetary limit. Influenced by what is happening in their lives up to that point in time, such individuals may have a particular perspective about the world around them. I want such people to have an opportunity to comprehend the new elements of the universe and explore better approaches for seeing the world through an alternate window, that would be through a painting. I firmly believe that the alternate new window could be opened up using Takuma Tanaka’s painting, which would help them make appropriate substitutes in their perspective on life.

Next, he was asked about the challenges he faced during his journey. He responded by saying that the most significant test he encountered was during the solicitation phase while selling art in public places. Regardless of the climate around the city, may that be late spring, or under the burning sun or winter time when it was freezing outside, he had to arrange paintings in the town by the train station and welcome the individuals strolling by.

Despite his efforts, a vast majority would simply stroll by, and only a couple of individuals would stop and investigate his fine arts. Albeit at some point, there used to be some individuals who would swear while cruising by, saying “you need to go to art school and improve.” However, progressively the number of individuals who purchased his fine art expanded. A few people le> a positive input saying “your work is remarkable” or “it resembles the work of a great painter”. This strengthened his roots and, his difficulties became more comfortable to overcome than the ones he faced in the prior stage of his life.

Lastly, he was asked about his goals and ambitions. He responded by mentioning that his goal is to promote positive social mobility and contribute to society’s positive reconstruction. He believes that art tends to inspire such activities and empower communication. He adds a light over his past years, where he had no means to earn money and was so emotionally exhausted; it was the act of painting that helped him relax and earn. A few times the paintings he made back in those difficult stretches were bought by affluent people. You can see how the flow of money can move from top to bottom in a situation like that. He says that art can develop such a flow in the world, which could transcend social, linguistic, border, and cultural categories.

According to his, two crucial elements play a significant role in his profession: Painting and selling, and educating individuals regarding the artwork. He studies the world through a birds-eye view. Instead of analyzing one miniature thing in detail, he prefers looking at multiple things from a broader perspective, find something similar in a pattern, and then express that. Next, in 2008, he made appropriate preparations to present his paintings internationally.

While Urawa, Japan was the place where he worked first, later he settled on a choice to travel with no conviction, and thankfully expressed by Takuma, he got the opportunity to have his painting placed in an exhibition. From that moment onwards, he gradually grew overseas, gained massive support and was able to keep his paintings in The Ulster Museum, the National Museum of England. He additionally comments on the therapeutic role played by the paintings. These act as mediums allowing painters to express their perspectives, share their feelings, without agonizing others’ judgment. When asked about his ongoing project on the rise, Takuma shared his recent initiative of “art car” utilizing his art with automobile as a canvas Takuma aims to collaborate with car dealers as to export the “painting” globally. Although the concept of “Art car” is still new in countries like Japan and other Asian regions Takuma plans to leverage his fan base with a crowdfunding to navigate the project to success. “I believe that Art car can contribute to social impact in a positive way. In the midst of economic down turn, art is a form that can cut through the noise and speak directly to people as to provide individuals with balance and perspective”.

In conclusion, viewing art can help people relieve mental exhaustion and that is a well known fact globally. Better yet art related initiative focused on connectivity and growth can really help make a difference in our society. It is stated by Neurobiologists that art can help the same way indulge in nature does. So even without the opportunity to indulge with nature art can help.

Perhaps for those “stuck” inside may find art to be a healthy option for “the daily dose of gazing out”. Either music or paintings, the first step may be to start opening up to the whole new world of magnificence by artists.
