Madonna-Whore complex is a where women are viewed as either virgin saints or “Madonna”, or dirty sexual objects or “whores” and no, it has nothing to do with the world- famous pop star Madonna.
According to Sigmund Freud, who is the mind behind this, “Where such men love, they have no desire and where they desire, they cannot love.”
So, who is a “Madonna”?
Madonna is said to be a virtuous figure with a social virtue. She is an object of worship and something that all females should aspire to become. She is an ideal beauty which is “untouched” and “pure”.
Anyone who fails to live up to the Madonna standard is a “whore”. She is someone who lacks morality and humanity. She is exclusively sexually driven with an active sex life.
The problem with the Madonna-Whore complex is that 0% of us fit fully into one category or the other. We may err on one side or the other but we’re all born with sex drives. We’re all born with a sense of compassion. We’re all a little bit Madonna and a little bit Whore.

Types Of Men Which Suffer From This Complex:
The Madonna-whore complex is ever-present in our species. It can be called an internalized dilemma of an outward struggle. The majority of men in this world struggle in their relationships because of their beliefs and mindsets. While one part of them choose to hate women, the other learn to love and respect them.
Type 1: Men who “Hate” Women
Men who claim to hate women think of them as a possession. According to them, sex with them and their affection are things that can only be achieved by the hard work of women. For them, women and men though humans are completely different.
They often go on angry rants about women being dirty, not knowing their place, ignoring their social roles, not fulfilling their duties, being bitchy and crazy and on and on. These are the ones, who are commonly known as the “players”. They end up being manipulative in their relationships and often have no trust in their women.
Type 2: Men who think of women as Gods
On the other hand, there are men who are ready to go to extremes for the women they love. They worship the ground they walk on, are ready to rearrange their lives for them. These kind of men are generally people-pleasing.
Hurting others is not an option for them. They often find themselves buying gifts for the women in their lives, seeking their affection and striving for it even if it is not returned.
Solution:
The cure to this complex is simple. The only way is to treat women as equals, not better and not worse. They should be simply seen as humans. This means neither treating them as someone above you who deserves to be worshipped, nor someone beneath you who can be demeaned for her natural urges. It means to respect one’s and other’s desires and to believe not everyone is perfect for you.
