So what exactly is it?

Is there a way to deal with it without losing your mental peace or your self-respect in the process?

Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Body Dysmorphic Disorder is an extreme case of being body sensitive. Common symptoms for people suffering from BDD include obsessing over a body flaw and being unhappy to an extent that they are also diagnosed with depression or emotional anxiety often going over boards to overcome their flaws.

But is it non-diagnosable? Of course not.

There are numerous self-help books and psychotherapy sessions to help people suffering from BDD. The first step is often the hardest one.

Self Acceptance

The first step in being happy and stopping it from getting to your emotional balance is Self-acceptance. Accepting that you have a flaw that you are not perfect makes you a human. You are no less than anyone because no one is perfect.

There. If you pass the first hurdle, everything else is a cakewalk.

Invest Your Time In Hobbies

The next step in the process of being happy is developing your hobbies.

We all have that one quality that sets us apart. Hobbies are never short, ranging from public speaking, writing, organizing, sports, fashion, and the never-ending list.  You just have to find one.

Devote the time you were investing in overanalyzing your flaw in developing your strength. Simultaneously search for ways to get your hobby recognized.

You will find the confidence, and there’s nothing ever more contagious and beautiful than that confidence oozing out of you.

Make Friends And Stay Happy

Third and probably the most important step of all is Never letting the thought of the “dreadful flaw” come to you ever again. The best way to do it to keep staying happy.

Make friends; go out a little often, hang out with more people, it will only make you stronger.
