Delhi is a every foodie’s heaven and hub for crazy festivals. Put them together and we give you the coolest food festival and the first one of it’s kind, the HORN OK PLEASE food truck festival sponsored by SoDelhi and GoBazinga.
How to get there :
Location : Ansal Plaza,Hudco Place, Khel Gaon Marg.
It is approachable by metro. Take the metro and get off at Moolchand Metro Station. You can walk or get a rickshaw from there.
If you’re travelling by car, it’s still not a problem and there was a big parking space available, to our relief.
When? :
Horn Ok Please was a two day long food fest. If you didn’t get to be here, we’re sure they’ll back soon.
Days : 4th and 5th March
Time : 11AM- 8PM
Ticket: Rs. 100/- (available on the venue)
What went on there? :
The food fest was held in the amphitheater and surrounding area of the Ansal Plaza.
The place was decorated with the funkiest things like truck tyres, rims, spokes, traffic cones, etc. The place looked like a cracker of a festival.
The venue was jam packed with people ranging from all age groups.
The festival had over 20 popular food trucks that served everything from American Hotdogs to Japanese sushis.
The trucks included Doggy Style, Something Saucy, Banta Bar, The Lalit Food Truck Company,Devilicious, Sushi House Mafia to name a few.
We had a pizza from the Pizza Truck.
In the amphitheater, there was a live acoustic session where artists like Shadow and Light, CopyCats, Jordan Johnson and others performed.
Right beside the amphitheater there were other food stalls of some popular joints like the “SardarBaksh Café”, Banta Bar, etc. place also had a bar by one of the sponsors Bira.
The first 91 entries on Day 1 of the festival got free Bira 91.
Sassy deal, isn’t it?
Hukkah Craft served hukkah to the people sitting in the amphitheater to enjoy the live performances at Rs. 1000 for 45 minutes.
We ordered pizzas (because they are life) from The Pizza Truck by The Lalit which were heavenly. The pepperoni pizza was to die for. It was quite expensive at Rs. 160 for a 9” Slice but tasty nonetheless.
We also ordered a Classic New York Hotdog from Doggy Style. It costed ₹200. The queue was long at this truck but the taste justified it.
The food from What The Fork made us cry happy tears or maybe it was just the spices.
We bought the Besharabi Sangria Banta from Banta Bar at a whooping Rs. 120 per medium sized cup. It wasn’t worth the price.
The Good : The food was lip-smacking and totally worth the wait. (Yes, there were huge lines outside each food truck)
The Best : The decor and ambiance were the best part about the whole festival. The light acoustic music added to the aura and made the experience worthwhile.
The Worst : The food was very expensive to say the least. There was no value for money on most food trucks.
A glass of beer for Rs. 200, can you imagine? *rolls eyes*
Verdict :
The food fest was a cracker of a place to visit but only if you have a heavy wallet. But you could still enjoy the ambiance and the music. Get a glass of beer and a slice of pizza or a yummy hot-dog and enjoy your day in the sun.
We suggest you go there the next time and get some delicious food and click tons of selfies in this crazy food fest!
