To mark a historic moment during the COVID-19, we reached out to philanthropist, entrepreneur, mentor and trader Chan Lo.
Chan Lo is the founder of www.CallsOrPuts.com and founder of www.ChanceTrades.com under Chance Holdings LLC, a business that he intends to support the community back by providing the less fortunate a chance at a better financial life. In the end, he says he will reach the point where he opens up Chance Corporations if it’s not taken already.
First, he started off with the meaning behind the name of his company:
“Chance is such a powerful word – it’s a word of hope and freedom. Those two words are what our company stands by. Growing up in a less fortunate household where we lived in a basement since I was young, sometimes homeless due to certain conditions made me really look for that “chance” in life. I began “hustling” since I was at a very young age, because I couldn’t afford to waste my time. I made a living by selling videogame currency, construction, working multiple jobs, and also going to school at the same time. Between my worklife and college life, it was definitely eye-opening when I saw people on a constant basis complaining about their life that is “so hard” when they have yet to experience hardship. “So hard” that they have the time and money to spend going out to drink, and having so much fun. “So hard” that they have yet to work for a single dollar in their life.
That made me despise lazy people, and complainers. In college, I learned how to trade as I heard about it all the time. Recently, I started this company as a means to provide a helping hand to the people who want to learn about investing and/or trading. Although I am not a financial analyst, I try my best to educate on basic principles of investing and/or trading. Now that our community is fully functional and large, we are beginnning to look into helping individual members that has shown an entrepreneur drive. We are actually working on purchasing a property in Virginia for one of our members to manage as a AirBnB rental.”

“Chance Trades does not mean gamble trading, the definition of Chance in these terms mean the chance provided in life through trading.”

Chan On Why You Should Start Investing/Trading:
“Investing is one of the most important concepts never taught in our current education system, yet it is one of the most important steps to financial freedom. You should always be investing, whether it is in yourself or in companies. If you do not have much time to trade, and/or monitor your positions then investing would be the right choice for you.
If you’re looking to make additional income, and have time during the mornings whether it’s an hour, a few, or the whole day. Trading has a lot of non-sense attached to it. There were studies on trading conducted saying that 95% of traders usually come out with nothing. That is true, to a certain extent. To trade, all you have to do is deposit money into a brokerage account and you begin just like that. A career on the other hand, you go through school, extensive training institutes or trade school. So, how can you compare a trader with ZERO experience and say that traders in general lose all their money? If you put in the work learning the trade, you can definitely find success.”

“As mentioned above, it’s VERY simply to get started in trading; however, you should not get started in trading just to get started. You first need to lay down the fundamentals of being a trader. Trading takes a huge chunk of psychological discipline. It is not as simple as it sounds.
