Bollywood has long since added to the evening time tea gossip to our lives, and yes I am looking at you men too. Don’t deny that you ‘don’t gossip’… we all know the truth.
But one of the things that have always and forevermore remained fodder for gossip is the topic of Bollywood home-breakers and their stories.
No matter how long the time has passed, those stories and incidents keep coming back to our mind and for me, that happened while I was reading about Asha Parekh’s biography ‘The Hit Girl’.
In the biography according to reports, when talking about her love life, she has been quoted saying “Yes, Nasir Saab was the only man I ever loved. It would’ve been worthless to write an autobiography if I didn’t write about the people who mattered in my life.”
With this, she acknowledges the importance of Nasir Hussain, who along with giving her, her debut as a heroine in 1959 with Dil Deke Dekho also worked with her on several other superhits like Caravan and Teesri Manzil.
She was also quoted talking about how “I was never a home breaker. There was never any ill will between me and Nasir Saab’s family. In fact, I was so happy to see Nusrat (Hussain’s daughter) and Imran Khan (grandson) at my book launch. I feel I’ve lived my life decently and without hurting anyone.”
This is what prompted me to take a look at some other alleged Bollywood home-breakers who not only made a name for themselves for their onscreen roles but off-screen as well:
1. Rekha
I believe any such list would be incomplete without Rekha making her presence felt in it. Rekha as much as she has been an acclaimed actress for decades, has also been in the news for her supposed affair with Amitabh Bachchan.
Her biography ‘Rekha: The Untold Story’ has brought out a lot of controversial matter to the light such as how it was after the viewing of ‘Muqadaar ka Sikandar’ that Amitabh Bachchan ultimately stopped working with Rekha at all.
And how at an award function this speech by Rekha, “I looked at you, you turned your face away. Why? You feel you are badly off, but can’t you see my position is worse? There is deep hurt in your gaze, but can’t you see that the wounds in my heart are deeper than your look?”, was actually for Jaya Bachchan and not Amitabh as so many suspected.
2. Hema Malini
After Rekha if anyone is known for her personal life, it would be the ‘Dream Girl’ of Bollywood Hema Malini.
Her affair and subsequent marriage with Dharmendra after he turned to Islam in order to marry Malini are still talked about in Bollywood.

3. Zeenat Aman
Zeenat Aman would be the last extremely popular actress who made headlines for her supposed affair with Sanjay Khan.
But her incident was perhaps the most public and cruel as Sanjay Khan and even his wife Zarine Khan both beat up Zeenat Aman at a private party in 1980.
Where Zeenat had gone in order to have a private discussion with Sanjay about her shooting schedule, he instead let loose an unctrollable wrath and instead of stopping her husband his wife too joined in.
