This March of 2021 it will be almost a whole year since the entire world shut its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The COVID-19 spread across the globe swiftly and mercilessly, resulting in an entire change of lifestyle, business, economic and literally everything we knew about anything.
Although there were slight spots of optimism during this time with some places doing a better job at containing the spread of the disease and not having a death count in the lakhs or millions, there is still a long way to go.
While vaccines have come out in several places of the world, India included, we are already seeing mutations of COVID-19 happening.
One of the first ones to be reported was last year in December when new COVID-19 strains were found in the United Kingdom (UK).
Now reports have come out of new COVID-19 symptoms that people need to be aware of besides the earlier three.
What Are These New Symptoms?
With scientists, doctors and researchers working relentlessly on the SARs-COV-2 and trying to find out more about it, it was found that three symptoms were found to be consistent among those infected with the coronavirus.
These early symptoms as per UK’s National Health Services (NHS) were:
- fever
- dry cough
- loss of the sense of taste and smell
The above-given symptoms were commonly told by doctors to look out for and if someone had all three or either of them especially the last one, it was a good indication that the person should get themselves tested for COVID-19.
However, with new COVID-19 mutations said to be coming from the UK and South Africa region it has resulted in new symptoms coming about.
Apparently, these new strains of coronavirus are even more contagious as compared to the earlier one and are said to affect even people who are in the healthy age group.

While the earlier three symptoms remain as good indicators for COVID, there are new symptoms that have also come up.
According to reports, local health officials in Warrington, Cheshire, United Kingdom, have given out seven new symptoms that people should look for in regards to COVID-19.
These are:
– Sore throat
– Muscle aches and joint pain
– Diarrhoea
– Conjunctivitis
– Headache
– Rash on the skin
– Discolouration of fingers or toes
Experts state that if any of these symptoms stay for a long period or a group of them are occurring at once in the body, then the person should get themselves tested as soon as possible.
Home isolation and social distancing should be adhered to in case someone is suffering from these symptoms or even otherwise not in the best state of health.
Trying to get treatment for COVID-19, in case the test comes back positive, at home should be the first thought. However, if one is suffering from other severe health complications or the symptoms worsen then medical help should be called for immediately.
