The nation was taken by a shock on September 28-29th 2016, when the Indian army retaliated against Pakistan in what were termed as a series of ‘surgical strikes’.

India had inflicted these strikes across the LOC to avenge the death of 19 soldiers who were killed by Pak-supported terrorists in Uri earlier that month. This attack in Uri by Pakistan was also termed as the “deadliest attack on Indian security forces in about two decades”.
