Suhana Khan, superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter has appeared in her first ever interview, gracing the cover of Vogue India.
This is her first time appearing for a magazine photoshoot and giving an individual interview and already she is the face of the August edition of Vogue, which is arguably one of the biggest magazines in the entire world.
The issue describes Suhana as “Student, theatre lover, future star” and the cover was launched by her father, Shah Rukh Khan himself on Tuesday.
But… and yes, there is a but, while the film fraternity is obviously giving it good compliments, not everyone on the social media is happy with the cover and the biggest word that is on everyone’s mind is ‘NEPOTISM’.
Is This Nepotism?
To be honest, while certain instances can definitely be brushed aside as not nepotism, this one instance would definitely not be that.
Because here, it’s very very clearly nepotism that is at play since Suhana has not exactly done anything that should warrant her getting a whole cover to herself.
Earlier, Janhvi Kapoor’s Vogue cover also made headlines, but at least there was the reason of her film Dhadak being released soon.
And usually, the production houses and all get these things rolling in order to better promote their movie.
So for Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, it at least made sense why they were getting the cover of high profile magazines and that was mostly to promote their upcoming movie and more than that, that they were 2 very big star kids who were finally making their mainstream Bollywood debut.
However, I fail to understand what exactly has Suhana Khan done that justifies her getting a cover. Has she won some kind of an award? Has she started some extremely innovative and unique business and thus as a young entrepreneur she could be a good example to other budding ones? Has she done anything, besides be SRK’s daughter that defines her as an individual and would make it a good reason that she is going to be available on every magazine shelf for the whole month of August?
For god’s sake, it’s not even like she is planning to enter the modeling world and thus is working towards that.
The only reason that makes any sense as to why Vogue would put a star child who has not done anything of value or contributed in any way to any sector or industry, would be just and plainly because she is SRK’s daughter.
Do You Understand How Big A Cover Is For A Model?
First of all, those who are wondering what the big deal is that Suhana Khan got the cover of Vogue India, should realize how big of a deal it is for a model or someone to grace the cover of a magazine.
And when that magazine is one of the most prestigious and popular magazines around the world, then the stakes get even higher.
Models literally aspire to get to a stage where they will get to be on the cover of these kind of top 10 magazines and once they do, it could practically settle their career.
Because the magazine is essentially banking on the model’s face and style for it to sell to the general public, and models work years and years to finally land their first cover.
So for the daughter of a big Bollywood celebrity to just get her own cover, without even doing one little thing, is quite unfair to the modeling world.

Detrimental For Star Kids
Another point that comes to mind with this, is how the media is in parts a participant to the self-entitled mentality that a lot of the star kids or those coming from privileged places usually have.
The way media and such establishment without any rhyme or reason want to suck up to these young people, just because their parents are really powerful, makes the kids feel entitled to getting what they want without having to do much.
Now, I am not bashing Suhana nor do I want to put any kind of negative light on her, but Vogue could have just as easily given the cover to someone more worthy and if they so wanted, have Suhana either feature in it with someone else, or given her a piece within the magazine itself.
Instead, they want to ride on the popularity and hype that these star kids already have and monetize on it.
By the way, Twitter is already waiting for Taimur on their next cover! Lol!
