Since India was a colony of Britishers during Second World War, it is often mistaken that India had no to minimal role in the war. However, it was not so. About 2.5 million Indian soldiers fought against the Allied forces.
They fought a brave battle against Japanese forces in Imphal and Kohima. They also helped in liberating British colonies of Hong Kong and Singapore.
The Indian Army during World War II was one of the largest Allied forces contingents which took part in the North and East African Campaign, Western Desert Campaign. Apart from providing man power, India also supplied arms and ammunition.

We, Indians, are really blessed to have a hard-working and brave army that is ready to give up their lives for the country without a second thought. Even Britishers applauded Indian soldiers for their valour and determination. They were awarded Victoria Crosses for their outstanding wit and courage during war time.
