Top-level athletes, successful business people and achievers in all fields all set goals. Setting goals gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation. It focuses your acquisition of knowledge, and helps you to organize your time and your resources so that you can make the most of your life.
They say if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. 25 year old entrepreneur & CEO of iFortune Marketing and J & R Vacations Ryan Morris is the embodiment of that statement as he’s already talking about 2021 when most still haven’t caught their breath from the whirlwind of a year that we’ve had in 2020. To say that it takes forward thinking to plan that far in advance is an understatement.
Ryan believes in the 10X system that he learned from Grant Cardone’s The 10X Rule. He believes in order to really make a stride forward, you have to think of your goals in multiples for the year. For example, If you made $500,000 from your business in 2020, you’d set a goal to make $5,000,000 in 2021.
That sounds great in theory, but of course there’s a catch to it. It’s going to take 10 times the amount of value and productivity that you produced in the year prior. It takes becoming the person necessary to build a business that creates that type of output, and Ryan doesn’t believe that you can do it alone.
“The only amount of success you ever achieve in business that is done by you and you alone is your decision to become successful and your daily recommitment to that same decision. Everything else requires other people making decisions. It requires people to buy your products. It requires people to buy into your vision. It requires people to buy into helping you along the way. Don’t ever think you’re going to do it alone, or you’ll end up alone.” -Ryan
Goal Setting is only the start of the battle. Actually achieving goals that you set requires intensive planning, and it requires execution and improvisation when things don’t go the way you planned. If you want to break into the top 10% of performers in your field, it’s best to start thinking ahead about what your goals for this coming year are right now.
