Breakfast Babble: ED’s own little space on the interwebs where we gather to discuss ideas and get pumped up for the day. We judge things too. Sometimes. Always. Whatever, call it catharsis and join in people.

Today, I officially complete a year and one day of being an EDian. It is probably the biggest milestone in my life.

Milestones are overwhelming. Milestones carry a nostalgia as soon as you graze by them. Milestones make your heart ache with joy and move you to tears because they

And trust me when I say this, I have never been happier in my life.

But what have milestones ever done for me?

I am 23 years old, and with this milestone, I most significantly realise that I am no longer a dreamy kid. I have adult-ed. I have priorities, targets, calendars to maintain. I am a working woman, the future I was forever growing up for is right here, right now.

I have a career, a world of choices and consequences that only my parents and the other “adults” had to worry about once. To think about my life, and what happens in that one life I have been given beyond today is an open everyday challenge.

What really happens beyond today?

Now that I have come so far, now that WE have come so far, what next?

Well, onwards towards more milestones I’d say! Let’s live this weird crazy totally bizarre adult life the best that we could ever make it be. Since the only way out is onwards.

That’s what I have been doing so far along. And it’s been working out just fine.
