Humans Won’t Lose Jobs To Robots With Elon Musk’s Electrodes Implanted In Brains Invention

Trust Elon Musk to make waves in places that didn’t exist until he created it.

With the news of the upcoming launch of his latest offering Neuralink, a neural lace technology that will enable human minds to work synchronically with computers, the world has been made to sit up and take a good look at his plans to save humanity once again. How can anyone be not excited about such a radical technology?

Why Do We Need Neuralink?

Speaking at the Vox Media’s Code Conference in Southern California last year, Elon Musk had speculated that we would need a digital layer of intelligence to stay relevant in a future that will be taken over by Artificial intelligence. He repeated the same concern more recently at Dubai, when he said according to

He repeated the same concern more recently at Dubai, when he said according to The Verge, “Over time I think we will probably see a closer merger of biological intelligence and digital intelligence … It’s mostly about the bandwidth, the speed of the connection between your brain and the digital version of yourself, particularly output.”

While computers interact within themselves at a trillion bits per second, humans take up to 10 bits per second to say, probably typing into a phone. He has projected that at the rate AI has been evolving in the present world climate, a lot of jobs are going to taken over by pure machines.

He has projected that at the rate A.I. has been evolving in the present world climate, a lot of jobs are going to taken over by pure machines.

Humans then will not only have a lot of leisure time to spend but will also need to increase their economic worth to keep their quantifiable value steady in the market.

Why Not be Smarter than the Computers We Create?

The new cool thing, a few decades from now, will be the speeds at which we can upload and download thoughts through the tiny electrodes that will be implanted in our brains.

And before you begin to wonder how that chip will be impregnated into your hard skull, be assured that nobody is cracking open your skull in this lifetime, Neuralink is speculated to use a jugular vein.

Already registered as a ‘medical research’ company in California last July, they have been inducting some of the top academicians around the world to work on this project.

There actually is a minor trend in treating patients with Parkinson’s, epilepsy and other extreme neurodegenerative diseases using metal implants with companies like Kernel already beginning their work in reversing the effects of such extreme mental conditions and rewiring our cognition more effectively.

What will Elon Musk’s venture practically lead to, we will have to wait to find out.

Do We Really Need It?

I am definitely not the one to judge. But the internet is visibly divided by this news. One party is excited to see the stuff of science fiction come true, the others are raging on about how corporations are trying to take over their brains. Both extremes are running live on half-baked speculations.

Elon Musk has been a revolutionary when it comes to taking the boldest step ahead in technology, but like all the corporate pundits point out, it’s laced with risks. Musk’s approach to go all-in is very popular, he trying to put humanity on Mars, make electric auto-pilot cars, and now this. With everything, the chief concern is what are the solutions for the future.

And we need resources to execute all this. It should not come as a rude shock that not everyone will immediately be benefitted by it. The promise of greater leisure, though tempting, isn’t real. The biggest joy is that we have reached a point where we can begin to think of actually developing and testing such technologies and yes, even save lives when it comes down to it.

Elon Musk is a visionary, the undefeated Iron Man alive, and nobody can take that crown away from him today.
