With geek culture slowly and steadily worming its way into the mainstream world, you’re definitely bound to come across TV shows with a strong “geek” element. Well, if you think that you love shows with a strong sci-fi element, you may just be a geek in the making!

And on behalf of the geek community, I would like to say:

1

1. Firefly

“Firefly” is also referred to as “space-western.” 500 years in the future, in a world combining futuristic space travel and boarder planets that exist with the most basic of technology.

Captain Mal and his crew will fight to death to do what’s right. With a superb  combination of wit, humour and drama that only Joss Whedon can create, this show will make you laugh, love, think, cry and cheer.  This is undoubtedly one of my favourite shows ever.

2. Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones is largely based on the “A Song of Ice and Fire“ book series by George R. R. Martin. This show is one of the most popular and attractive shows ever made in the history of Television. The actions and the humour content is at an all together different level. With amazingly diverse characters, kick-ass  sequences, sex, incredibly well-developed scenes, and intricate and  plot sequences, this show is an absolute delight!

3. The Walking Dead
The show is based on the series of graphic novels, Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Grimes leads a group of survivors in a world overrun by zombies.
Yes, I am talking about Daryl Dixon. Though , he’s not in the comics, but he is definitely a much required welcome addition, even though some comic fans may disagree with me.  Zombies are cool, Aren’t they?

The show is based on the comic book series. A spoiled billionaire brat Oliver Queen is missing and presumed dead when his yacht is lost at sea. He returns after five years as a completely changed man and is determined to clean up his city  This show combines interesting new characters with fantastic fan-favorites and they all have amazing chemistry.
This show is completely stunning!

No, you can’t.

6. Doctor Who
The story is all about a 900 year old Time Lord who travels through space and time with his companion exploring new worlds and defending Earth from those who would fight with him. Is there anything more science fiction than time travel? No.

7. Sherlock
As we all know, Sherlock is based on the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This modern version finds the famous detective and his doctor partner solving crime in 21st century London.
The class of this show is at a completely different level. It is one of the best TV shows that as ever been aired. Sherlock has fans all over the globe.
