The controversy with self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati doesn’t seem to be going down anytime soon.
The 62-year-old spiritual leader, who was the former director of Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management-Research in Delhi, was accused of molesting and sexually harassing over 17 female students, most of them from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scholarship program.
The baba, who had been on the run for almost two months, was finally arrested in Agra on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Now, former students and others are coming out, speaking of their own personal experience with him. One student recently spoke with the media about her close call with the baba and the red flags she noticed.
What Red Flags Did The Student Notice?
A young female student recently spoke with NDTV, recalling how she almost got admitted into his institute and what all she noticed there, many of which raised her hackles in discomfort.
She spoke about how she had been trying to get admission into his institute last year and only got out of it in time due to sheer “luck”.
Apparently, she tried to get admission into the institute in October last year. To this, Chaitanyananda made lofty promises of internship, financial support, and even the opportunity to go abroad.
She said, “He told me that I could come here and do an internship, and for that, they will also pay me. He said all our things are digitalised here, there are good opportunities for you. Then Baba ji said that he trains IPS officers. He made it sound like he had authority and influence.”
One of the first red flags that jumped out to her was the insistence of the institute to confirm admission the same day, not allowing them much time to think and deliberate. She said, “They do not give you time to think so much.”
She added, “On the same day they will ask, on the same day they will say that your admission should be confirmed. I wanted one or two days to decide, but they did not allow it. My parents said, Why are they not giving time to think? That raised their doubts.”
Another thing that rubbed her the wrong way was when Chaitanyananda randomly brought up how a girl had “tried to seduce him,” and when he rejected her, she got the police to harass him.

She said, “I found it very strange. I had just come here to talk about studies. Why would he say such a thing in front of me? It made me uncomfortable. My parents also found it odd.
He already puts something in your mind that, in the future, if he harasses you, you will be afraid to take action because the police will be against you.”
Thankfully, the girl and her family decided not to go ahead with and she believes that “I was lucky I didn’t fall into Baba’s trap.”
She also brought up how his personal assistant had a very important role in student recruitment, and that “they influence in such a way that the other person will be completely convinced that it is a very good opportunity, that they get students internships abroad, even MBAs.”
In another recount, a woman who was the first female student to file an FIR against him in 2016 explained her own experience with the godman.
Speaking in an exclusive with India Today, she said, “Yes, I filed the FIR in 2016. The chairman then was Swami Parth Sarathi. They started harassing me right from the beginning. If my complaint had been heard, I don’t think so many girls would have to suffer today.”
The woman speaking anonymously also said, “They blackmailed people because they wouldn’t return the documents, threatening to fail them or expel them if they didn’t comply.”
She also revealed how the godman would make unwanted advances toward her under the guise of promises of foreign placements, job opportunities, and confiscate her laptop, phone, and certificates, never to be returned.
As per her account, police officers were also not allowed inside the institution, claiming that “his influence created an environment where students were silenced.”
