This time on the agenda is an app that relates to something that is essential to our day to day functioning but sometimes goes unnoticed as such. Yes, we are talking about grocery shopping.

“Grofers” is a novel concept which according to the official description can be described as an “on demand delivery service from the nearest stores around you.” It aims to directly link up customers and merchants. With various major merchants on board, it is already operational in multiple cities.

We decided to give this a try and here’s how our grocery shopping went for the day.

Our initial experience with the app was pretty slick, which has user friendly design and navigating is pretty simple yet, effective.

You get to choose from a range of products and the app uses your location to find the available stores near you.

The app also lets you know in how much time the product can be delivered and lets you schedule the time of delivery which add convenience to the experience.

The app always offers free delivery for all orders above 250 rupees.

The delivery was timely, however we were surprised to see that only half the stuff we ordered was delivered due to unavailability of the rest. That was sort a bummer to whole experience of grocery shopping online and Grofers should really consider updating their catalog about availability.

All in the idea behind the app is particularly interesting, however the implementation requires better treatment as Grofers tries to bring the Grocery store to the comfort of your Smartphone.
