A report assessing the wealth of the Chief Ministers of India was released by the Association For Democratic Reforms (ADR) and New Election Watch (NEW). The data was based on the analysis of the self-sworn poll affidavits of the Chief Ministers.
There are 28 states and 8 Union Territories in India. 2 Union Territories- New Delhi and Puducherry, have their Chief Minister. All 30 Chief Ministers were analyzed. According to ADR, “out of the 30 chief ministers, 29 (97%) are crorepatis with the average assets for each CM working out to Rs 34 crore.”
