Avengers Infinity Wars is just one year away but the film has been awaited by fans all over the world with bated breath ever since it was announced by Marvel in 2014.
The biggest and most epic coming together of different superheroes in one or well a two-part movie is not something to be missed.
And the fact is that Infinity Wars has been in the works for a long time. Marvel with Phase 1 and 2 has slowly been working its way towards this final, end-all battle that will probably blow every Marvel fan’s mind away.
Not to say I am not skeptical, there is a big chance that the films might not meet up to our expectations, however, Marvel has, for the most part, kept our trust with at least average if not excellent films.
*cough*nothing like DC*cough*
Now Marvel has recently released a good 8-minute long featurette of Avenger Infinity Wars and I had some theories of my own that I wanted to share:
1. New Avengers:
The first theory that I have after watching the featurette was something that has been in my mind since Phase 3 was announced and that was the retirement of the old Avengers.
This featurette sort of has just cemented that idea even more that Marvel will be retiring the old Avengers team that is Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk, and Hawkeye.
The new Avengers will be made from the characters that are being introduced or are being brought back like Bucky/Winter Soldier, Falcon, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and more.
2. Black Panther As The New Captain America:
Yes, you read that right. I believe Black Panther will be taking over a character and standing similar to Captain America.
Now, I know that Falcon and Winter Soldier are more in the running and sure they can take up the mantle or name of Captain America.
But from the featurette, Black Panther’s character arc seems a bit similar to Captain America’s and what he has generally brought to the Avengers team.
3. Thanos Will Either Not Die Or Die In An Anti-Climatic Manner:
Okay, sort of a disappointing theory and I truly hope Marvel has something better planned, but I believe that Thanos will either not die at the end of Infinity Wars or die in such an anti-climatic manner that we all will feel super disappointed.
I would go with the not dying theory since that will be a good segway to the next phase with the new Avengers.
