If one is to know comedy, then the last thing one would think about is police force in Indian states. However, we love to be corrected every now and then, as it was the UP Police that tickled our funny bone with gusto and jumped aboard the ‘pawri’ bandwagon.
The UP Police, akin to a number of brands, used the extremely viral video’s momentum to drive home the awareness of calling the emergency number of 112 under emergency circumstances.
Funny and a necessary awareness, the UP Police easily one-upped itself by being accessible and relatable by the younger generations.
What Is The ‘Pawri Ho Rahi Hai’ Video?
Pakistani social media influencer and content creator, Dananeer Mobeen, became an overnight sensation in the global/desi meme culture.
As is usual with every other form of viral video, they are either pulled out of the eternal depths of internet history or they exist just for the sake of their existence.
This video was more of the former, and fortunately, Dananeer knows how to take a joke at her expense.
“Yeh humari car hai, yeh hum hai, aur yeh humaari pawri ho rahi hai,” (This is our car, this is me, and we are having a party). This entire trend has taken the entire world by storm, and as is right, it is extremely difficult for any brand or content creator to stay away from viral videos.
Within a couple of hours of the video becoming viral on social media and spreading like wildfire, with Netflix getting right on top of it, and Yashraj Mukhate of the ‘Rasode Me Kaun Tha’ remix fame, did not waste even a minute to jump on the bandwagon himself.
The ‘Pawri Ho Rahi Hai’ remix by Mukhate is, probably, the most lit banger coming out of the indie scene this year, to be honest.

What Did The UP Police Post?
UP Police is no stranger to creative advisory tweets or disclaimers but in this instance, they have well and truly come up with something that one would remember for the entirety of their lives.
The official Twitter handle of the UP Police Department tweeted, “Late night #PawriHoRahiHai aur aap disturb ho rahe toh call karein 112,” along with this image.
This was seen as both hilarious and alluringly creative by the UP Police Department, with the Twitteratti laughing their mouths off at the hilarious quip by the police and commending the amazingly creative work done by the department. Many were quick to the ‘pawri’ to reply to the tweet made by the UP Police.
After all that is said and done, it is with great joy that I commend the UP Police for their amazing creativity and using the virality of the meme culture to tackle very important social issues.
Here’s hoping Kolkata Police hops in on the ‘pawri’ bandwagon as well, then we can decide which police force has the best meme game.
