There are more than 700 tribes identified by the Constitution of India and so many smaller tribes with their own distinct culture and traditions that haven’t yet been identified.
A few nomadic tribes are unique to India and we probably haven’t heard about these. Nomadic tribes are the ones who travel constantly. They keep shifting from one place to another for their livelihood.

The nomadic tribal culture is slowly fading away as the tribes are starting to take up other jobs like lock repair, sharecropping and jewellery making.
One of the main reasons for it is growing urbanisation and deforestation. It initially started to displace the tribal populations when colonisation started and has been growing ever since.
Nevertheless, many tribes have retained their traditions and practices throughout the years, like the women of the Bharwad tribe and their tattoos.
