It has been 3 months since late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise, but it feels like it happened only yesterday. Once labelled as a suicide, his fans and close associates were convinced that there is a bigger controversy in place here, and thus began the demand for a CBI probe for Sushant.
On August 19th, the Supreme Court of India gave a nod to the CBI investigation in this case, dismissing Rhea’s plea to transfer the case from Bihar to Mumbai.
Rhea, the ex-girlfriend of the Dil Bechara actor, is one of the prime suspects in this case and is thus facing backlash from the media and people alike.
However, more often than not, the media has overstepped its jurisdiction by encroaching upon the actress’s private space. She has often talked about it in her interviews, but now she has taken legal action against the same.
Rhea Files Complaint Against Media People At Santacruz Police Station
Monday (31st August 2020) was the fourth day of the stringent questioning against Rhea by the CBI. She and her brother were called for questioning at the DRDO guest house in suburban Kalina. She reached there at around 11 AM and left for her residence at around 7:30 PM.
However, her residence premises were crowded by the media persons, so much so, that she could not enter her house. Alarmed, she did not step out of the car and went directly to the Santacruz Police Station to file an official complaint against them.
In the complaint, she requested the police to tell the media “to not obstruct her way and to keep working keeping her constitutional rights in mind”, as reported by a police official to ANI.
She was assisted by around half-a-dozen police officials, who helped her enter her house safely.

Past Instances Where Her Privacy Was Breached By The Media
Sadly, this is not the first time that she has faced such kind of obstruction from the media. A few days ago, she shared a video where her father was being mobbed by the media.

“I request @mumbaipolice to please provide protection so that we can cooperate with these investigation agencies”, she wrote in the video’s caption.
In yet another video, she pointed out how her building’s security guard named Ram was attacked by the media. The video is not available on her profile at the moment.
“Ram is my buildings watchman for the last 10 years, He is hurt, he was hit by #media. Media people have entered my building compound and hurt the security guards and my father. Is this not a crime? Who is responsible for this? Is there any law at all? Are we barbarians? #justiceforram. Will the concerned authorities kindly take notice, there are children and elders living in this building too. Or is this the system we live in?” she wrote.
Whether she is accused or not is yet to be decided by the system. However, it seems like the media has taken it upon themselves to pass the judgement, ignoring other (often more important) matters.
Hopefully, the police protection will help her and her family for the time being until the final verdict is announced. Till then, let’s just hope that Sushant and his family get the justice they deserve.
