Do you believe in the fact that at some point in life, we suddenly have an ‘eureka’ moment, like a moment of realization?
A ‘wow’ moment that leaves us reflecting and thinking?
I mean it just gives us a different perspective in life…
For many it might happen as they grow older, but for me it happened too early in life. It might sound weird but I am really happy that it gave me such an insight of life.
Soo the story is like-
I was just chatting with a friend on whatsapp when I fell asleep.
Just then I received a message.
He: Hey! Did u message me?
Me: Noo. Who is this?
He: It’s your inner soul speaking! You were confused, right? So I thought I would chat.
Me: So is it me talking to “me”? Well, please stop fooling around and get lost!
He: Oh I was just wondering if we could talk…
Me: By the way, why would my “inner soul” buzz me on whatsapp?
He: You were not able to hear me so I thought I would reach out to you through the medium you are comfortable with..
Me: Oh stop that rubbish!! How is that possible and by the way what could I not hear?
He: You had questions and I had all the answers. But you never seemed to listen. Anyways ask me whatever you want and you will get answers. Believe me!
Me: Okay fine, let’s try that out too.
Tell me, why has life become so complicated?
He: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
Me: Why am I constantly unhappy?
He: You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.
Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
He: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.
He: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
He: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.
Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?
He: Yes. Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can’t we be free from problems?
He: PROBLEMS are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading.
He: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
He: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
He: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Me: Sometimes I ask, “Who am I?” “Why am I here?” I can’t get the answer.
He: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
Me: How can I get the best out of life?
He: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat!! I never knew my inner self could itself answer them!
He: Well. Have faith in yourself and drop the fear. Don’t believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs.
Just then my mom woke me up-“Keep that silly phone away and then sleep”
What was it? Was it actually my soul talking?
It was bizarre but I somehow got some answers I had been looking for, this chat revealed the purpose of our life!
Somewhere or the other I was seeking these answers and it came to me.
Has it ever happened to you?
Well, I definitely have a different perspective in life now!
