Is Netflix Changing?
Yes, Of course! Netflix is definitely capitalizing on two of India’s biggest obsessions to capture a larger Indian audience – reality shows and Bollywood.
First, Indian Matchmaking and now Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, one can surely expect more content in the genre of reality shows from Netflix in the coming days.
Undoubtedly, reality shows are always an instant hit and manage to find an audience on its own. Mix this together with a nice dose of Bollywood, and voila! You’ve captured the Indian audience’s attention.
Maybe that’s the reason we now have shows based on the lives of ‘Bollywood wives.’
Why Are Reality Shows An Instant Hit?
The reason is plain and simple, they reflect the complex human nature. Reality shows are like midnight cravings, the one you can’t resist. They are our guilty pleasures.
We want to know what’s going on in the lives of others and we want to be able to see it up close. This is precisely what reality shows deliver, producing in us a plethora of emotions.
While it is generally believed that reality shows dumb society down, it was recently discovered that they also have the ability to stimulate our minds. They can make us more empathetic as well.
Stimulating or not, one thing is certain that they are peak entertainment suppliers and we cherish them as an audience.
Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives will release on the 27th of November on Netflix. Watch the trailer here.
