ED VoxPop: What Message Would You Send In A Bottle If You Knew That Somebody Would Open It 100 Years From Now?

964

On the coast of Germany, A bottle was brought to the shore.

Marianne Winkler, a retired postal worker found it and on looking carefully she saw that it had a message inside. The clear glass bottle had a note inside bearing the words “Break the bottle”. On unfurling the note, it asked the finder to fill in some information on where and when they had found the bottle, before returning it to the Marine Biological Association in Plymouth. The couple returned the bottle and found out that this message is 108 years old and was once part of an experiment to determine the relation between strength of ocean currents and fish.

It was released in the waters between 1904 and 1906, making it the oldest message in a bottle to be found till date.

This news made me wonder what message people would send today, if they knew that somebody would open it 100 years from now. After conducting an ED Vox Pop, these are the interesting answers I got:

1 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2

What would you like to say to the people of the future?
