Dalai Lama has done it again, in a single interview with the BBC, he managed to offend the US President Donal Trump, Africans, women, Muslims, migrants and the rest of humanity.
But this is not the first time that he has done so. Here is a compilation of the controversial things he has said.
On Migration
In the recent interview with BBC,
In 2016, in an interview with a German newspaper, he said:
If migrants are to return back to their land, then shouldn’t all the humans go back to Africa?
One such view on migration, coming from a migrant himself is hypocritical.
After the Chinese acquisition of Tibet in 1959, the current Dalai Lama along with thousands of his followers came to India. Since then they, along with their descendants, have been living in India.
It is estimated that as many as 1,20,000 Tibetans live in India. The ones who were born in India can even vote!
Mao Zedong must be smiling in his grave right now.

On Trump
In the same interview with BBC:
Though what he said is true, being the influential person that he is, makes it controversial. Let’s wait and watch if Trump tweets about his displeasure from what the Dalai Lama said and did.
On women
This is the second time the Dalai Lama has given such remarks on the possibility of having a female successor. He was giving an interview to BBC both the times.
Remarks that objectify women coming from a spiritual leader. Sigh.
On Nehru
In 2018, the Dalai Lama said,
When China took over Tibet, it was India that gave refuge to the Dalai Lama. Pt. Nehru, then serving as the PM, had to sacrifice ‘Hindi-Chini bhai bhai’ in order to give asylum to the Dalai Lama.
It is assumed that the same reason was one of the main pretexts of the Indo-China war. The Dalai Lama is well aware of these facts, yet we get to hear such statements.
