The Lakme Fashion Week 2019 is right now underway and as usual is filled with glitz and glamour. Models wearing thousands and lakhs of rupees worth of outfits, made up in the best way, strutting down the runway, striking their best pose.

But while fashion and couture might be the things most talked about during this time, the models wearing all those beautiful outfits can have even more beautiful stories of their own.

One such came to our attention when Smriti Irani, the Minister of Women and Child Development in the 2nd term of the Modi government, posted something interesting on her official Instagram.

In her post she mentioned that while attending the Fashion Week, she came across a model, whose story touched her and showed her how inspiring one can be.

The model named Nisha Yadav has had an interesting journey from a small village in Rajasthan to being showstopper at big fashion shows.

It is unclear if it was a divorce or Nisha objected to getting married at a young age, due to reports stating different things.

Nisha and her family also had a ripple effect on the rest of the village people. Now after seeing the success of the girls, other people from her village are also encouraging their daughters to do something different and have their freedom.

More power to you, Nisha!
