Ever composed a song and dreamt of performing it for people, having a worldwide audience appreciating your music, collaborating with other musicians, vocalists, lyricists and moving beyond the few likes thrown at you on uploading an instrumental piece on Facebook?
Or thought of earning money off poetry, pencil sketches and short stories, sitting within the confines of your bedroom? You can now do this. And much more, with this amazing site at your disposal.
What is HITRECORD?
It is an online collaborative production company founded and owned by actor and director Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Yes! One more reason to join it.) It uses a variety of media to produce such projects as short films, books, and DVDs, among many other things. You can upload stuff, collaborate, remix to produce new things, post challenges, and if any of these projects seems novel enough to the founders they can produce it, giving the contributors their share of the pie in return. Sounds fun?

We at ED decided to try it out for ourselves to give you an idea of what the experience is like.
Step 1: JOIN
Step 2: Look at the Dashboard for fun stuff of all types that you listen to/read/ watch/admire. And believe me, there’s a huge variety. Right from amazing instrumental pieces of my favourite music to beautiful sketches, I just fell in love. Get inspired and try to see what kind of content this site is all about.
Step 3: Jump right in! You can choose to upload anything you want to, or start with looking at challenges to which you can respond to, something which I did.
Step 4: Choose something which is your forte.
Step 5: And RECORD!
People who like your work can further recommend it, comment or better still, remix it to produce something new, something like what this guy did- I am completely hooked!
Every day there are new challenges to choose from, new stuff to read and listen to, new hobbies to pick up and new people to interact with from all over the world with similar creative tastes. And what’s more, if you get lucky, there is some money in the offing too.
So what are you waiting for? Get up and Hit Record.
