The casualties of the Russian-Ukraine war are rising exponentially as each day passes. There are brave media martyrs who died while working in the conflict zones. The media officials work day and night, risking their lives to communicate the real-time situation of the war zone to the public.

When the Russian military forces invaded Ukraine, reporters, camera crew, producers and other workers of news agencies swiftly went into action. Young Ukrainian journalists like Olexandra Kuvshynova navigated the foreign media officials in the war struck Kyiv but died from the Russian attacks.

Are the media workers not protected in war zones? When they risk their lives for the nation, does the state give a guarantee of safety for their rights?
