Hats off to the Planning Commission. They have defined BPL that has dumbfounded many economist for decades. The Planning Commission  on saturday has defined BPL as “any person who spends below Rs32/- per day”. Now, this literally means that India is no longer a POOR country . Congratulations, to all of us.

Though, Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, the Deputy Chairperson of Planning Commission may claim such allegations as false but it is equally true that it will have a extremely adverse affect on the people who have been living on government subsidies and schemes. The Rs 32/- poverty line margin was adopted in way back 1973-74. But, our Policy makers seem to have dozzed of  for 37yrs. Wake Up Sir, India needs some serious strategies for cracking Poverty.
