Gauri Lankesh was one of the gutsiest journalists in India. She stood up against the extreme right wing, Hindutva organisations without breaking a sweat and expressed her views without fear.
Unfortunately, she was killed a few days ago for being a mascot of free speech.
Let’s demystify this firebrand that shook the Hindutva establishment to the core.

Her death comes as a blow to all those who believe in a fair, equal, free and just society.
Her death makes us all fear for our fates in this new regime of “intolerance” and hooliganism, a regime where people are silenced simply for expressing their views.
But her death has also brought us together against forces that seek to disrupt our way of life. Gauri Lankesh was a beacon of hope that rational people exist and her this beacon being shut off is indeed sad, sad news for us all.
