In Sports, history is made every day. Here are the top stories of the past week:
» South Africa win ODI series as well
» Goa on top of Indian Super League table
» Manchester City top of EPL table
» WTA Finals Singapore starts today
Cricket: The Proteas beat India in the 5 match ODI series. Four and a half years ago, India had lifted the World Cup at the Wankhede stadium. Yesterday, at the very same stadium, they succumbed to a 214 run loss against South Africa in the final match of the series, losing it 3-2. The South African team produced 3 centurions and put 438 on the board. That was pretty much it.
Football:
In an interesting turn of events, as we inch closer to the end of the Indian Super League, FC Goa has inched past the other teams and find themselves at the top of the table with 10 points in 6 matches. They are closely followed by Chennai, Pune and Delhi, on 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively, each with 9 points.
Meanwhile, in the EPL, Machester City is sitting pretty at the top of the table tied with Arsenal with 22 points apiece. West Ham and Manchester United are at 3rd and 4th spot respectively, with 20 points each. Chelsea is still struggling to find form and consistency and is placed 15.
Tennis: The WTA Finals 2015 to be played in Singapore will be contested from 26th October to 1st November. unfortunately, injured Serena Williams will not be competing due to an injury, which puts Simona Halep on top of the rankings for the Singles category. The top seed in the Doubles category is (no prizes for guessing) the pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis, currently on a dream run.
We will be back next week with an update on that and much more, so stay tuned!
