Telangana State Will Lead the Way with Forward-Thinking 24×7 Business Policy -Swatantrata Center

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 15: The Special Chief Secretary of the Labour Department, Govt of Telangana, released a GO revealing that commercial businesses, shops, and outlets can be kept open 24 hours a day, seven days a week by paying an additional payment of Rs.10 thousand per year with the withstanding charges.

With this govt decision, the efforts made by the Swatantrata Centre for years were successful. They call on the government to take proactive steps to address these challenges, including providing adequate resources and capacity-building support to local governments, strengthening accountability measures, and reducing the cost of formalizing vendors for a long time.

Swatantrata Center founder & president Venkatesh Geriti said, State’s decision to open businesses 24/7 is historical and it marks a new direction towards greater prosperity, better livelihoods, and enhances the quality of products and services at affordable prices.

He further said that they believe that this decision by the Telangana government will improve economic activity and ease of doing business in the state.

This move is expected to provide greater convenience to customers and create more jobs, while also improving the competitiveness of businesses in the state and improving the overall quality of life of people.

Swatantrata Centre running a campaign for street vendors since 2019 to strengthen the Street Vendors Act 2014 and promote business-friendly economic reforms in Telangana. The Campaign promotes businesses, especially street vending to remain open 24×7 in Telangana state.

Raghavendra Askani co-founder of swatantrata centre told that they have been actively engaged in advocating for better policies and practices that can support the growth of these enterprises. “We believe that the recent decision by the Telangana government is a step in the right direction, and we congratulate and welcome this move.” he said.

He further said that at the same time, they recognize that there are still many challenges that need to be addressed to ensure that the market-friendly business environment is implemented effectively.
