A modern literature and a compilation of small snippets in the form of short poetries on women
New Delhi, 3rd October 2020: Reecha Agarwal Goyal, one of India’s best-selling novelist and fiction writer has recently launched her new book “SHE – SCREW SILENCE” a collection of micro tales on women. The book delves into a wide range of ideas from a woman’s fight to asserting her identity to her constant struggle with a rigid society.
With the central character in the book, Reecha unfolds the stigma around menstruation, body shaming, how ambitious women are looked down upon and the way intelligence is perceived in women. Even in today’s progressive times, there are barriers to women’s empowerment and equity ingrained in cultural norms. Most women feel these pressures, while others have become accustomed to being treated inferior. The book also connects the complex issue between the modern-day relationships of women across generations.
Through the book, Reecha has referred SHE as a strong character and a modern-day woman. SHE is a career-oriented yet happy homemaker. SHE is an independent woman being courageous enough to speak-up on matters like marriage, divorce, etc without the fear of being judged. SHE is a non-conformist who absolutely refuses to be a pawn in the hands of society.
Talking about her book, Reecha Agarwal Goyal says, “SHE – SCREW SILENCE is a collection of musings that will make the readers grasp the finer nuances of what it means to be a woman in today’s world. SHE is a reflection for my daughter to follow her footsteps and became an independent woman. Imagining different situations and charting the best reaction to each situation was challenging yet fulfilling.”
Published by Fingerprints Publishers the book is now available on Amazon, Flipkart, Shop Clues, Book Adda (Sapna Online), along with most of the major offline stores across India.
Blurb about the book:
SHE- Screw Silence! by Reecha Agarwal Goyal is a delightful collection of micro tales on women, by a woman. The simple but tactfully put words throw light on the crucial subjects concerning a woman – her fight for asserting her identity, her struggle against the rigid mindset of the society, her willful ignorance toward anything that pulls her back, her grit and strength in becoming and achieving what she aspires for.
“Have you heard the whispers? She woke up different today. She smiles like she is hiding a secret. She holds her head high like she is wearing an invisible crown. The air around her is charged with confidence, strength, and courage. Have you heard the whispers? She woke up different today. Yet it feels she has been like this always. Maybe it’s the story that has changed.”
