Veere Di Wedding got a lot of attention for a number of things, the not a chick flick thing, abusive and obscene content (allegedly), the masturbation scene of Swara Bhaskar and more.
But the one thing that impressed people was newcomer Shikha Talsania’s performance as Meera, the girl who married an NRI and perhaps one of the few sane ones in the movie.
Her comic timing and sincere expressions really caught the audience’s eye and considering that she is the daughter of well-known comic actor Tiku Talsania it is no wonder acting comes easily to her.
But before all this, Talsania has worked in a number of different movies, web series and independent movies that allowed her to hone her craft. Some you might have heard while others might be something that was completely unexpected to hear. So let us take a look at some of the insignificant roles that Shikha Talsania played before making it big with Veere Di Wedding:
1. Wake Up Sid:
Making her debut with the acclaimed movie Wake Up Sid in 2009, Shikha Talsania played the stereotypical over-weight best friend Laxmi to the main character Sid played by Ranbir Kapoor.
She definitely made a presence with her character though by giving it a fresh take and one of her memorable roles.

2. Midnight’s Children:
Being Seema Biswas’s neighbour definitely paid it for Talsania who got her who got a role in the critically acclaimed director Deepa Mehta’s movie Midnight’s Children based on Salman Rushdie’s novel of the same name.
Talsania had earlier told Biswas that she just wanted to be on the set of a Deepa Mehta film, be it in any capacity possible.
She eventually went on to play the role of Aliya who is the eldest daughter of the Aziz household.
It definitely works to up her credit as an actor and give her a good edge of experience.
3. Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji
A more of a minor role than anything, this was a sort of commercial movie that Talsania did, where she essayed the role of another employee in Ajay Devgn’s character’s office.

4. My Friend Pinto
Shikha Talsania also played a minor role in the 2011 dud My Friend Pinto starring Prateik Babbar and Kalki Koechlin.
She played the role of Neha.
5. Khaney Mein Kya Hai?
In a very millennial way, Talsania also ventured into the world of web-series and short movies with the funny and tongue in cheek Khaney Mein Kya Hai.
It very hilariously and astutely showed how ignorant Indian parents can be to the sexual aspect of their children going so far as to think of everything beside think that their child is sexually active.
