Yesterday, on World Metrology Day India adopted a global resolution to redefine four of the seven base units — kilograme, kelvin, mole and ampere.

As a result, schools and technical institutes will have to change their syllabus. The definitions of these units will be either be refined or rewritten in all the textbooks, changing the emphasis from explicit-unit to explicit-constant-type definitions.

Will my weight change?

The definition of kilogram has changed, but the face value is still the same. For this reason, you, I and every other entity will still weight the same.
