Who doesn’t fancy an airplane ride?
Well, Indians surely do.
There’s no surprise that India has emerged as the third largest aviation market with air passenger traffic growth in the range of 18-20 percent over the past three years.
Over the last few years, the expense of travelling by train has increased to a great extent, while air travel expense has significantly reduced.
Schemes like Regional Connectivity Scheme or UDAN to provide air connectivity to smaller towns and hilly terrains at affordable prices have surely helped the cause.
Now the number of flyers in India is more than those travelling in AC coaches of trains, thanks to the soaring railway prices.
While you may not believe this, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India in his report hints that it makes more sense for travellers to take flights rather than a train.
But, all good times must come to an end and you may soon see plane tickets costing more with an increasing demand for air travel. Don’t worry, these things do take time.
